About Me
I was born and raised in Germany and, still rather naïve, moved to the US at age 19 to marry my husband. During my 17 year marriage “to the Army” I moved 9 times mostly between Germany and the US.
Being the mother of two daughters and Army life was exciting but also had its challenges of adjusting often to new surroundings, establishing new routines, dealing with separations, and having to meet many new people.
While my two daughters, Pamela and Chelsea, attended a Montessori preschool I fell in love with the Montessori Philosophy, started assisting and teaching in the school and soon after pursued training. After settling down in Colorado in 1992 I entered in a partnership of a small Montessori school taking over as the Administrator and Head Teacher for two years.
My 10 year dream of owning my own, beautiful school became true when I opened the doors to “Giving Tree Montessori School” in Colorado Springs in the fall of 1995. Being detail-oriented and loving new challenges this endeavor has proven to be very stimulating, exciting and successful.
After my divorce I faced being a single parent, running my own business as well as being in a new relationship. Juggling all was not always easy but provided lots of growth and experiences.
In 2004 I took on a part-time instructor position for a Montessori Teacher Training Center in Colorado and in 2006 copyrighted my first teaching manual “Geography in the Early Childhood Classroom".
I realized that coaching is a natural extension of all those aspects in my past and present, created and followed my vision of enrolling in Coach U’s coaching program where I am now in the process of obtaining the Professional Coaching Certification.

Working with children everyday is the most rewarding job as they are my coaches - full of wisdom, love, forgiveness, fun and who live their lives to the fullest every moment in the present.
Passing on my experience to fellow teachers, administrators and parents is my way of paying forward. I am an instructor at M.E.C.R. (Montessori Education Center of the Rockies) in Boulder, CO, where I teach the Geography and History curriculum. I have written an extensive Geography curriculum which can be used by any early childhood / elementary educator.
I use this manual in the workshops I lead. I love to travel to different schools to help teach this much neglected subject matter using lots of hands-on materials.
Feel free to contact me to schedule a workshop if you don’t know exactly what to do with those Geography materials that are collecting dust on the shelf, if you need more extensions for those you are using, if you find geography boring
This lively and interactive workshop (using the traditional Montessori Geography materials and showing many, many extensions that are easy and cheap to make) will energize seasoned and new teachers. Get excited about geography, take home many new ideas, take pictures of many extension materials, see materials made by children, sing earth related songs and much more.
